1845 - 1875 Coins Recovered!
First day out with his new Garrett GTI 2500, Bill Welch, searching an old house foundation in Arkansas, recovered a cache of US coins including large cents, dimes and nickels dated 1845 thru 1875. The coins were in a well-preserved, metal cigar box. Bill said, "the GTI 2500 is a very smooth operating detector. It is stable and quite easy to use even for a beginner. I had some younger friends accompany me one day and one of the woman was able to operate the GTI with ease. We hit a few parks and found quite a few coins, silver and deep ones among them. The GTI is an excellent detector for both the beginner and the experienced hunter."
Celtic Gold Stater of Addedemaras Found!
"Unbelievable" is the only way to describe my recent treasure hunting adventure in the UK with my GTI 2500. It wasn't long after starting our search that I found a full Celtic Gold Stater of Addedemaras, Celtic Chief in approximately 30-15 BC. Fate was again kind to me and I retrieved another from only about 4-5 inches down, the GTI 2500 locked on perfectly! I held a slightly different Stater in my hand, which turned out to be a rare off center strike showing part of the legend that is usually not visible.
